Congratulations on your pregnancy! As well as looking after yourself and enjoying the best care and advice during your pregnancy, you’ll need to prepare yourself to care for your little one when he or she finally arrives.
The babyconfidence course has been written and is run by Vicki Scott, midwife, new baby & breastfeeding consultant. Vicki is also Baby Care & Feeding Advisor to Philips AVENT, and has 20 years of experience working with babies and families. The full course is packed with up to date, practical advice & information to help you get off to a great start with your new baby – most of the course content you simply won’t find elsewhere. Small group sizes make it easy to give that all important one to one time and easy to get to know the other mums on the course.
The course consists of three classes held weekly before your baby arrives, and three classes held monthly after baby arrives. In addition to this, an hour of telephone support is included to use as and when you wish. New mums say that consistency of advice is so important at a time when they are bombarded with it! Private home visits, or visits to the clinic are available too, depending on what you need at the time.
I recommend that mums ideally attend the ante-natal section of the course when they are between 32 and 38 weeks pregnant. The post-natal section of the course will begin once all babies have arrived. Babies are absolutely welcome at these classes, a nanny is on hand to help out with the babies, allowing you to relax & take part in the class over a cup of coffee, with your baby close by.
